Legislative and Public Policy
Our Legislative and Public Policy committee is responsible for providing the board with up to date information on legislative, policy, and advocacy issues that impact the counseling profession in New York state, as well as communicating advocacy issues supported by ACA. Find the contact information for our Legislative and Policy chair under "Leadership."
Our Graduate Student committee is committed to involving masters and doctoral students from across the state in ACA-NY events and activities, while also providing leadership opportunities for students. This committee receives feedback from graduate students and helps to ensure that their voice is heard among our ACA-NY events and activities. Find the contact information for our Graduate Student chair under "Leadership." Graduate students can get connected to other ACA-NY Graduate Students by joining our "Street Team." Our regional chairs plan events throughout New York state to meet the needs of our members. Currently we have four regions: Upstate, Downstate, Central and Western although ACA-NY members are welcome to attend events in any region. To learn more about our regional events, or to volunteer, contact the Regional Event chair in your area under "Leadership."
Our Communications committee is busy doing everything from creating our newsletter to updating our social media sites to responding to emails from members. They also take on special projects such as the Member Survey and others throughout the year. Find the contact information for our Communications chair under "Leadership."
